Music and Art

They tie together, so simply complex.

Risa sent me this song today. It made me want to dance and sing. Music has so much power over our souls. The chello makes me melt. And the amazing piano in this song locks my gaze.

Yesterday in my ceramics class I learned the very old Japanese firing technique of Raku. "Raku" means "happiness by chance." This so so true. It was just by chance I was in this ceramics class which taught Raku. I *love* it. You heat the pot in a garbage can like kiln, until it is glowing hot. Then you take the piece out and move it to a different garbage can with newspaper in it. The heat from the pot lights the paper on fire. The thermic shock between cans causes cracks that become black with the smoke. It is beautiful. The whole thing from the beginning, then burning garbage cans, and finally a beautiful vase, or pot. Here are a few pictures of Raku.
